Shadowscapes Tarot Deck Review & Gallery

Created by Stephanie Pui Mun Law

“Find your inspiration as you leap into a fantasy world of floating mermaids and dancing fairies with this mystical deck based on the Rider Waite system. Stephanie Pui Mun Law’s exquisite artwork blends Asian, Celtic, and fantasy themes inspired by fairy tales, myths and folklore from worldwide cultures.”

Shadowscapes Tarot is beautiful, the art of the cards and the writing of the book. The cards are painted in watercolours, the marriage of colours is sublime. The scenes are ethereal, mystical, mythical, underwater, up above… Stephanie uses animals as well as people to depict the essence of each card and she does it in a way that no-one else has.

The only complaint is the detail of the art is sometimes hard to see on regular size cards. An opportunity for a larger, deluxe edition was missed, but you can appreciate the finer details when you view this deck on a tablet or larger smartphone. As with some other decks featured in the Tarot Deck Gallery, the Fool’s Dog tarot app is the perfect vehicle and I thoroughly recommend you buy it.

The book is beautiful also. It’s positive and proactive, but not in a life coaching way. It’s poetic, spiritual and inspiring. The first part of the book, the mechanics – tarot spreads etc., was written by Barbara Moore. The card descriptions though, were written by Stephanie and she really captures the spirit of her deck in words.

I love this deck, in every way.
