Created and self-published by Mary Griffin, this stunning deck took 3 years to complete and is the most wonderfully colourful deck I have seen in a very long time. I was surprised to discover that the Hezics Tarot is painted in watercolours, I never knew watercolours could be so vivd. The shades of pink and orange, of green and lavendar, of blue and yellow are rich and full and a delight to behold.
The deck is based on the Rider Waite-Smith Tarot and remains true to the imagery and structure of it. The only differences being a name change in the Minor Arcana: Pentacles become Coins, and Wands become Rods.

Psychosynthesis Tarot Spread
A few weeks ago I was fortunate enough to have a psychological Tarot reading by my good friend Zorian Cross, author of the excellent Tarot blog, the Tarot Quest. I was totally blown away by this reading, and not just the Tarot spread, which probed deep into my psyche, but by the way Zorian reads Tarot. He is amazing, his skills are exceptional and I can’t rave enough about him. Seek him out and buy a reading from him – I absolutely guarantee you will be as astounded as I was.
The reading itself was done on Skype through instant messaging and while I’ve edited out a lot of our conversation – we can talk for England about anything, I’ve kept the format of our back and to conversation to give you a flavour of how the reading developed and, despite this being a very personal reading for me (why am I always bearing my soul?), it remains chatty and lighthearted.
Freaking You Out Since 1991 – Melissa Tarot
~Freaking you out since 1991~
That’s my tagline for my website. That, and “I already know you want one..” The truth is, though, that I’ve been freaking myself and my family members out since I was a kid. My family is part Native American, part Czech/Polish gypsy. We know stuff. We’ve got ‘The Shinnin’, as the Simpsons put it. My grandmother, most of my aunties and uncles, my sister and my Dad – a few of my cousins, me and my kids – we all have it to some degree.
Free Online Tarot Readings – Do They Work?
You betcha!
I haven’t used a free online Tarot reading service for quite some time. As I progressed along my own Tarot journey, and got better at reading the cards, I had no need to. There are some good services out there, Lotus Tarot, Llewellyn and Tarot.com all have excellent services, some free, some paid, but the lack of specifics in positions is always a let down, and sometimes, even when there is a “the Chariot in this position tells you to….” it’s still a little general and non-specific.
Psychic Reading for the Terrified
“Cath, I’m telling you – you’re a medium. There’s spirits all around you trying to talk to you, you’re just not listening!”
Beyond the Celtic Cross – Behind the Scenes
It’s not every day that you get to write a book, not one that gets published. And it’s not every day that you become friends with an eminent and highly respected Tarot reader and author. But that’s exactly what happened to me.
I met Paul Hughes-Barlow online through his Supertarot website and we wrote a book together – Beyond the Celtic Cross: Secret Techniques for Taking Tarot to an Exciting New Level.
Not wanting this to be your standard promo – I thought it would be a great idea to take you behind the scenes to the creation of our book. So instead of beyond it, I’m going to take you behind it, and back to February 14th – Valentines Day, 2008.
