Soul Journey Tarot Spread

soul journey tarot spread

The Soul Journey Tarot Reading, from the legendary Rachel Pollack, seeks to help you understand, through the Major Arcana, what journey your soul has been undertaking during your dreams, and other trance-like states. It’s a little different to regular dream interpretation as it doesn’t seek to find what your dreams are about, rather it seeks to find out where your soul travels to and what it’s doing while there. As Rachel explains:

Using Tarot to map your developmental journey

Like all of Nature, humans develop according to universal patterns or archetypal forces. We know this as the “urge” toward growth. As complex material and spiritual beings, that urge takes place, not only at the material level as we grow into adulthood, but also at the mental and spiritual levels. To say it another way, the growth of the mind, body, and spirit is a natural unfolding of our potential.

Journey Through The Major Arcana

Guest post series by Bonnie Cehovet

I think that everyone understands that the journey through the archetypes of the Major Arcana is a journey of individuation, of personal growth and enlightenment. There are several different ways in which the journey can be broken down. In the companion book to the “Universal Marseille” deck, author/Tarotist Lee Bursten discusses the 3 X 7 theory, which is based on Plato’s theory of the soul being divided into three parts: The Soul of Desire, The Soul of Will, and The Soul of Reason. According to this theory, Trumps I-VII represent the Soul of Desire, Trumps VIII-XIV represent the Soul of Will, and Trumps XV-XXI represent the Soul of Reason.

Free Online Tarot Readings – Do They Work?

free-tarot-readings

You betcha!

I haven’t used a free online Tarot reading service for quite some time. As I progressed along my own Tarot journey, and got better at reading the cards, I had no need to. There are some good services out there, Lotus Tarot, Llewellyn and Tarot.com all have excellent services, some free, some paid, but the lack of specifics in positions is always a let down, and sometimes, even when there is a “the Chariot in this position tells you to….” it’s still a little general and non-specific.

Karmic Bitch-slap Tarot Spread

Guest post by Zorian Cross

This spread was created about a couple of years ago. I was dumped by a guy I was having a long distant relationship with. He had issues regarding commitment and claimed I was suffocating him and he needed his space (he was two continents apart from me, how much space did he need?). So in a fiery fit of rage, I turned to my cards and began organically pulling cards one after another, asking questions randomly. While doing so, some of the cards revealed such cheeky yet witty answers to those questions that I couldn’t help but laugh out loud. So hard I laughed, I could feel the tears of joy falling down my cheeks.

The Gaian Tarot – An Interview With Joanna Powell Colbert

Gaian Tarot Oracle

I recently began writing a review of the wonderful Gaian Tarot, created by Joanna Powell Colbert. Communication with Joanna regarding permission to use the artwork on my Tarot blog quickly became chatty and as luck would have it, she kindly agreed to a short interview based on the Gaian Tarot. This post is that interview, the review will follow in a couple of days. Enjoy.

Where did the Gaian Tarot begin for you?
I had the desire to create a deck of my own back in the mid-80’s when I was deep into Goddess and Tarot studies, especially of the Motherpeace and RWS decks. But the thought of painting 78 cards was daunting. (Little did I know . . .) Later on, in the late 90’s, I went through a period of time where I let go of all my esoteric interests like tarot, astrology and ritual. I moved to a small, rural island, built a straw bale house with my husband and started a wilderness awareness course of studies — learning about the native plants and animals, going deep into the Spirit of Place.
