What Does the Knight of Pentacles Mean?
There are times in life when nothing less than repetivite & mundane effort will do. The Knight of Pentacles tells us that when the work needs doing, we just have to get on with it. Sometimes life is dull, but little by little, the results pile up & we know success.

Knights, Princes & Sons
Not all decks portray the Knights as they young men that are seen in the Rider Waite-Smith Tarot. In the Crowley-Harris Thoth they are Princes (based on Qabalah) and in the Quest Tarot they are called Sons (based on the family). Changing the title of the card does shift the meaning a little and humanises the court card in a more familiar way, as I explore in How to Finally Conquer the Court Cards.
The above decks all visually represent knights within the same age range. The Lo Scarabeo Tarot maintains this age and name, it’s French counterpart being Chevaliers. See all of the Knights, Princes and Sons together in my post of the same name.

Knight of Pentacles as a Daily Tarot Oracle Card
Oracle Message: It’s a day of work & fulfilling responsibilities.
It is often said that the Knight of Pentacles is dull and is all about getting things done*, signed off & moving onto the next task. It is true he may well be the antithesis to the party animal/hippie/free-spirited types but he is the one you can depend on. Always.
And so over to you and your day. It’s not a day for parties – unless you are the organiser, in which case you will masterfully get everything done that will make for a great party and no-one will know how fabulous you really were behind the scenes. And that’s the key – you toiling away, getting things done – everyone feels the benefit and no-one thanks the staff. It’s a bit like an academy away, no-one starts by thanking the chefs/maids/drivers etc. You get the picture.
Best advice today? Just roll your sleeves up and do what you need to. Responsibility is a big deal for you and so is putting in the effort.
*It may sound boring to some but this type of mental attitude gave birth to a whole industry of goal setting, life coaching and entrepreneurial spirit. Getting Things Done (GTD) is an actual thing and there are even books and apps to help you achieve success. So while this knight has an unfair reputation for being boring, over the long term he is also most likely to be the wealthiest of the other knights because his productivity levels are through the roof.
